Trans Sulawesi South to North 14 Days 13 Nights

This is the most complete visit of Sulawesi. The highlight of this package is visiting Torajaland ‘Tanah Toraja’ of South Sulawesi, The Famous and Beuatiful Lake Tentena and Tanjung Karang Beach Resort of Central Sulawesi, Bunaken Marine Resort and Tangkoko Reain Forest Trekking of North Sulawesi.

Day 01: Makassar Arrival then overland to Bira (Meals: Lunch, Dinner) Upon arrival at Hasanuddin Airport – Makassar (required to have a.m. arrival) we will provide meeting service and then driving to Bora the southern coast. En-route will be visiting the traditional boat builders industry at Tana Beru where can be seen hundreds of boats in the Bantilang (Boat houses).

Day 02: Bira to Sengkang (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) The journey today will be heading to Sengkang. Passing Sinjai with its pleasant journey, hilly drive around the slopes of Mount Lampobatang. In the afternoon will be visiting Andi Mappassissi Museum, where many traditional Bugisnese houses are still remain.

Day 03: Sengkang to Torajaland (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) In the morning the excursion will be visiting Lake Tempe the only marine outlet for the Wajo people. Another stop will be made to visit the famous traditional home silk factory. In the afternoon the journey will be continued driving onto Rantepao city of Toraja Highland for overnight.

Day 04: Torajaland Lemo Excursion (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) It is a full day excursion to explore the culture of Toraja Highland. In the morning will be visiting several interesting sites such as Lemo; one of the most impressive cliff-side grave sites in the entire region, Suaya; the royal tombs, Sayuan; the burial cave and the baby grave on the tree at Sanggala. In the afternoon continue the excursion to visit the family compound with typical Toraja houses at Siguntu and the burial cave with effigies of noblemen and other community leaders at Londa or Tampangallo.

Day 05: Torajaland Palawa Excursion (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) It is another full day excursion to explore the culture of Toraja Highland. In the morning we will visit the villages of Palawa and Sa’dan, typical Toraja weaving. In the afternoon visit the village of Ke’te Kesu one of the region’s most visited “traditional villages”, idyllically situated in a virtual sea of rice fields, then onto Marante the oldest traditional village with several large tongkonans and rice barns, our last visit will be Nanggala.

Day 06: Torajaland to Pendolo (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) A scenic drive from Rantepao passing Sabbang, Masamba, Bone Bone and Wotu, along the journey can be seen picturesque scenery with winding road. Lunch will be provided at simple local restaurant en-route. Late in the afternoon arriving Pendolo, a nice resort in front of the beautiful Lake Poso that is the second largest lake in Indonesia.

Day 07: Pendolo to Tentena (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) A short full day tour will be done to explore the surrounding of Lake Poso. Visit Bancea National Orchid garden, a natural orchid garden located in front of the lake. Take a nice swim and try the very fresh water during the leisure time Lunch box will be served. Then visit Saluopa Water Fall, a terrace water fall in a small rain forest. It is an effort to reach the waterfall need to have a leisure walk about 3 km along the beautiful rice field and local people working in the field. Afternoon arrive Tentena, a peaceful small town located near the lake Poso.

Day 08: Tentena (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) The program today will be full day free at own leisure to enjoy Lake Poso with swimming or sun bathing activities. Optional tour is available to arrange for cruising Lake Poso with motorized boat exploring the surrounding area of Lake Poso

Day 09: Tentena to Tanjung Karang or Palu (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) It will be quite a long drive to Palu, passing Tobalu, Poso, Parigi, Toboli and Tarawaeli. In the afternoon arriving Palu and accommodation will be provided at Tanjung Karang Beach Resort or in town Palu, the capital city of Central Sulawesi Province.

Day 10: Palu flight to Manado (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) Morning will be free at own leisure, until due time for departure we will provide transfer to the airport for flight departure to Manado. Upon arrival at Sam Ratulangi Airport – Manado we will provide meeting service and then transfer to Hotel. The remaining day is free at own leisure to explore the capital city of South Sulawesi Province.

Day 11: Bunaken Island (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) The reef is magnificent around Bunaken, a six-kilometer-long island, featuring not less than 13 dive sites. This tour begins with a ride to the harbor, and a 45-minute boat trip to the island. Arriving on the island, chances to do snorkeling or diving or only laying on the beach for sunbathing will be at own selection. Snorkeling and Diving equipments are available for rent. Late in the afternoon will be returning back to Manado.

Day 12: Minahasa Country Side Excursion (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) This full day excursion will be visiting Minahasa; the hinterlands of Manado. The first stop is Tinoor a beautiful view of Manado and surroundings from 500m above sea level, another stop will be made at “Bukit Inspirasi” (“Inspiration Hill”) in Tomohon, before having lunch visits Linow Lake (a lake of changing colors) at Lamenting village. In the afternoon will be visiting Tondano city which is famous Tondano Lake and Sawangan with its largest collections of ancient sarcophagus or “Waruga.” Dating from as early as the 9th century, the Waruga are rectangular stone burials of ancient Minahasa’s tribe.

Day 13: Tangkoko Rain-forest Trekking (Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner) The entire tip of the peninsula to the north and east of Manado is covered with lush, tropical rain forests, which have been declared a nature reserve encompassing 9,000ha, ranging from sea level up to 1,000m. This is a spectacular area, which offers the possibility to see not only unique animals such as monkeys, birds, Tarcius spectrum (claimed to be the smallest monkey in the world), butterflies and tropical plants, but also a wealth of corals and fish. This tour begins early in the morning and is guided by a local ranger of the nature reserve. What to bring: insect repellent, lightweight, long-sleeved shirt or blouse, long pants and walking shoes.

Day 14: Manado Departure (Meals: Breakfast) Morning will be free at own leisure, until due time for departure we will provide transfer to the airport for flight departure to other onward destination.
